I started playing Eris's missions first after downloading Seeds of Conflict and it was a bit... surprising.

As usual, Eris's missions are the most spoillerific, and this raises a lot of questions about Naterra.

It got me thinking about how Ladica's speech is considered archaic in Naterra, then it hit me... If Naterra was way more technologically advanced in the past, then it follows that their entertainment might've been more technologically advanced...

We partake in a technologically advanced form of entertainment called video games in our technologically advanced world. Would it not make sense for Naterra to have something similar in the past?

Ladica talks like she does because she is descended from avid gamers. She says "lol" like it's a word because the context has been lost. It wouldn't make sense from her perspective that it stands for "laughing out loud" because she wouldn't even know what the Internet or a computer is or the Naterran equivalent.

Imagine the world ending today. You wouldn't automatically forgot Shadowverse or any other games or movies or shows or toys that you enjoy in your day to day lives. You might even wax nostalgic about them in the future to your descendants. Fast forward several generations later, when the context has disappeared, and you get Ladica, a warrior who speaks in the "old tongue" of gamer slang.

Ladica talking like a gamer actually makes sense in the context of the story, and isn't just a fourth-wall breaking addition to the lore.

There's never been a point in the story where anyone actually touches Eris. I don't think there has been. Not even Luna gave Eris a hug when she gave others hugs.
