I had an idea for a miraculous ladybug fanfic where chat noir, adrian, and Felix are all full on alters within the same system

It would have building trans fem adrian vibes and a full on female chat noir from the start

Lots of merichat goodness and ladien pinning

Make the love square even more unnecessary complex

The ideas are all rattling around in there I just need a solid kick in the ass to actual start writing it

ok but get this... i feel like marinette and adrien feel different about when they are more like themselves, for marinette is when she is marinette and for adrien is when he is chat noir, thats why they fell in love when in those identities. soooo, i think that if marinette falls in love with chat noir and chat noir falls in love with marinette they'll be falling in love with who they really are.

Does anyone else wonder if it’ll be hard on Marinette if/when Chat’s civilian identity as Adrien is revealed to her?

I mean, with Adrien, it’s probably just going to be an onslaught of, “D’oh! How could I not have noticed all this time?! She was right in front of me!” but for Marinette....

Marinette has been into Adrien for so long, but has always only considered Chat a partner/ally on the battlefield. She never takes his romantic advances on her seriously because he acts shallow and flirty (even if it’s only her that he makes any true romantic declarations to). Between that and her feelings for Adrien, she tells herself that she could never like him back...

But then she finds out they’re the same person, except for she’s never been able to see that before, she’s never noticed... because they aren’t the same, they don’t act the same. The handsome, kind, talented Adrien with a heart of gold is suddenly the same shallow flirt she fights against akumatized humans with! But... which one is the real him? Which one can she count on existing when she needs him most? Whose feelings can she put any real faith in?

Anyway, sorry for the rant... I just feel like this whole situation could be really tough on her and I’m wondering if I’m the only one who thinks that.

Aaagh, I’m sad that neither Chat nor Adrien seem to hold romantic feelings towards Marinette. Marinette has had at least two other admirers in her class but never Adrien, the boy she’s liked for so long nor his counterpart who she’s interacted with both as a regular person and as a supergirl. It’s frustrating because she and Ladybug have such similar personalities but Marinette is never given the chance to shine the same way that Ladybug does despite them being the same person! She always has to hold back like a civilian until she can transform, never act even the slightest bit as a heroine in her own right, and even if she does, neither Adrien or Chat are around to admire her for it.

Meanwhile, the mystical and magnificent Ladybug has the amorous attentions of both Adrien and Chat and doesn’t really acknowledge either of them. Gah, what a mess!
