Oh Maddie and Amber, I’m so sad for you. Kaori, I am NOT ready to say goodbye.
Gorgeous Triple Axel! Wonderful Triple-Triple. Lovely Triple Lutz. Wonderful step sequence. Gorgeous spins.
That was an absolutely amazing program from Rika Kihira of Japan! That was just incredible and stunning from start to finish. That should be into first place, and should be a new World Record - or pretty close to it.
79.08 - WTF?! Into second place.

What do you think of their decision Kamila Valiyeva being allowed to compete
Honestly, I think it's awful.
The Russians are already being punished by the IOC for doping (it's why they have to compete as the Russian Olympic Committee instead of as Russia). Clearly, that punishment did absolutely nothing to deter them. All this does is send a message that you can get away with using banned substances if you're a minor.
I think the argument that she should be allowed to compete for her mental health is weak. Either way she's going to suffer. By allowing her to compete, if she wins, her gold will be tarnished, her reputation forever dragged, and hate she's going to get for it are going to be just as detrimental.
I do feel sorry for her. She was failed by the adults around her, and they are the ones that really need to be punished and punished SEVERELY. No minor without an actual heart condition needs to be on heart medication.
However, allowing Valiyeva to compete is absolutely UNFAIR to the rest of the skaters who had to build their endurance naturally, trained hard to get where they are, and skate without the use of performance enhancing drugs.
This is going to get UGLY if the ISU doesn't sanction the Russians after the Olympics.
KAORI, YOU GO QUEEN
SHOW THEM
GO GET THEM
KILL THEM
AND HER “YATTAA”
So I’m watching the Grand Prix Ladies’ Short Program and I can’t help but think about the time I told my friend that I liked figure skating and she thought I only liked it because of Yuri on Ice when in fact I’ve been fascinated by it since I was a child. I’m just thinking about that because it’s not the first time she’s thought something like that about me. :/
4CC SHORT PROGRAM LADIES
1.- Rika Kihira Rika is not even near to be my favorite skater; however, one must admit how impressive that 3A and 3Lz were in real time. They just blew my mind away. She is truly one of the complete skaters in the field although not my cup of tea. Great job Rika! It’s just so good to see that 3Lz back! Wasn’t a perfect skate, think she’s still recovering and was a little nervous, but I have my hopes on her to take on Trusova at worlds. I believe that, at this point, she is the only one who could take Trusova off the podium. Not because I hate Sasha or smth, but I think that girl needs to realize she needs more than jumps to win. And it would be so nice to see Rika on the podium so it wouldn’t be a full Russian podium at worlds. About her score, well, you could say they were fair-ish. Her 3A was totally UR (even << if a get picky) but wasn’t called. Guess to compensate PCS? Still, well done and deserved 1st place for Rika! 2.- Bradie Tennell There isn’t much I can say about Bradie more than “Good Job”. I know Bradie tries, and don’t know if it is the coreo but I just CAN’T get into that program. But we have to congratulate Bradie for keeping her mind cold and do a great SP. Her spins were so amazing! I thing that was the best part of her skating. Her score... those PCS... *sigh* Also, I think here 3T in the combo was UR? but well, it seems we are not calling UR’s here. Still, well done Bradie. 3.- Young You Congrats to Young You for not falling on her 3A! She managed to stay up and it looked good to me! Nicely done! The second jump on her combo looked sightly UR but safe enough. Nicely done. There is still a lot of work to do with her on the PCS department, but she still young and will grow her artistry. About her scores, I think it’s fair. Let’s see what happens in the Free. 4 .- Kaori Sakamoto Oh Kaori... She is one my faves, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE that SP. I don’t feels it is working for her. To me it looks more like a Wakaba type of program rather than Kaori’s. That being said... what that heck happened to that 3Lo??? That is supposed to be her best jump! Think she went into it without much thinking and too ...wildly? maybe. Looked a bit UR to me but, well... And as much as a hate that program, she still did her best to deliver. Good job Kaori. I hope she does well in the free. 5.- Wakaba In my opinion, Wakaba should be 4th, not Kaori. She was magnificent! I’m so happy to see her coming back this strong. The emotion in her skating, the power in her jumps (what was that GOE in the 2A judges??!) The 3Lz was FREAKING HUGE! A little bit out of control, though, and the 3T seemed a bit UR for me but, again, it seems we are not calling UR’s ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We are calling edges, though. Young You received the same warning, it wasn’t as clear (not even sure it was fair) as Wakaba’s though. When I saw Wakaba’s 3F in the rep, I clearly saw the unclear edge. It was a fair call. What was totally NOT fair were her PCS. She was robbed in PCS and should’ve been above Kaori. Shame on you, judges. SHAME ON YOU! Anyway, good luck on the free, Wakababy! 6.- Eunsoo Lim Oh, Eunsoo. My little swan...I just feel so bad about her situation. Such a beautiful skater. Despite everything, I’m so happy she could have a clean skate even if her combo was with a double. She flies across the ice and it’s just so beautiful I really hope she manages to overcome this situation and raise. Again, shame on the judges for those PCS. They truly do not know how to treat this kind of magnificent skaters. Good luck in the free, baby. You are stronger than you think!
Polina should be 4th and Marin should’ve been 3rd after the SP they were both criminally underscored especially Marin’s pcs I’m so over this wack system
