Michiko Malandro - an Afro Latina woman in her late twenties obsessed with a man, Hiroshi, who isn’t shit. Not only did he fake his death when she went to prison, but he also has a daughter he abandoned. Hatchin.
Determined to find him, Michiko and Hatchin travel for months together. Eventually locating Hiroshi. He agrees to raise Hatchin, and they leave the country together.
Michiko is now left to pick up the pieces of her chaotic life. She’s alone to confront the demons within her. Including her obsession with emotionally unavailable men.
Until she meets Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter turned business man who’s still heartbroken from the death of his girlfriend, Julia.
Spike leaves behind his entire past for a new scenery. A tropical country where lots of fugitives may be lurking. Including a beautiful ex-con who’s always willing to capture bad guys in the area for quick cash.
Neither of them are interested in a relationship but they’re both well aware of the undeniable attraction between them.
It also doesn’t help that Michiko’s carefree flamboyant personality completely contrasts Spikes laid back nonchalant demeanor.
