Preparation - Prompt topic for Naivaria and Lady Devonshire
Naivaria had gained a new sense of vibrancy about her since her bout with that poison, that was for certain. She often hummed while she worked, and spoke a bit easier. Today, though, it really showed; she was bounding around her quarters getting ready, and when she had finally donned the dress that Arandoros had sent her by post she stopped to admire herself in the mirror. She’d pinned her hair up and curled the hanging ends. It was nothing overly elaborate, but something that she knew how to do. That was when she realized that she did not have any makeup or any jewelry to go with it, and gasped. So it was that she burst from her room, clad in a red strapless gown that just months ago she’d not have been able to fill out. The bodice was decorated with elegant silver stitching and beadwork, and the long, flowing skirt was dotted here and there with patterned silver-and-pearl designs. She ran into Elnias first–very nearly literally as she rounded a corner. “Where is Lady Devonshire? This is an emergency!”Elnias gestured down the hall. “She is in the east sitting room, having tea–”“Thank you!” she cut in quickly, picking up her skirts and bounding down the hall in a par of red-ribboned stilettos. How she could run in the shoes was anyone’s guess.“–with a guest,” Elnias finished with a frown, watching after her.So it was that a flush-faced Naivaria burst in through the door, dressed to the nines but lacking in accouterments, and breathlessly rocketed off, “My lady, I need help–oh.” Lady Devonshire was indeed in there, but she was not alone. “Oh, I apologize, I did not know you were entertaining! I will… just… yes.” Now she made to begin backing out of the room.
