♣ - a fading memory
It was Killer’s favourite memory, rather small and nothing incredibly significant but it’s what he sought out when things became too dark or he was reminding himself of why he didn’t kill Kidd in his sleep. A silvery robot made of mismatch parts lent against a soft fabric of plush dog of equally mismatched fabric. Neither having an obvious place with the other, and yet resting against each other they appeared to have a connection beyond two forgotten toys.
Rather they were purposefully placed where they were, at the prow of a ramshackle play ship constructed from scrap dragged from the junk yard behind it. A black scrap of fabric fluttering in the breeze with a painted broken looking smile over crossed bones, marking the scrap heap as a prototype pirate ship. The first of many to bear the crew of robot and stuffed dog the first members of the Kid pirates. And they still were, tucked away safely from prying eyes a small nuts and bolts robot on the captain’s work bench to inspire him, and the fabric dog hidden away beneath the first mate’s bed kept safe. Childhood memories, a starting point for an astounding journey, still with these tough pirates because of their worth.
