Hey! A person indicated me your blog as a reference on Lokean subjects and, for what I've read, you know what you're talking about, and I have really like a ton of questions. One is: there's any record of Loki showing himself as a faceless man? Once I used to dream almost every night with a faceless man that one time showed me he had the power of assuming any face he wanted. Just wondering if it could have been Loki or not. Thanks!
I apologize that this particular answer probably won’t be all that useful.
Loki isn’t specifically attested as being “faceless” anywhere in the lore. He is a shapeshifter in the myths, and he is capable of taking on the appearance of other people, or other creatures. However, so are many other figures in Norse myth, not to mention all of the possibilities outside of Norse myth. And since deities and spirits don’t have corporeal bodies, they get to control how we “see” them.
To put it bluntly, the visitor in your dreams could have been virtually anyone, at least if we’re just going by that bit of info. But by the same token, we can’t rule out Loki as a possibility.
We have some posts in our deity identification tag that might be useful to you. And if you’re open to trying divination, that might help to at least narrow down the field, if the entity in question is still open to interacting.
And for what it’s worth, you don’t need to be called by Loki (or any other Norse deity) in order to worship them. It’s okay to reach out to him first for no reason other than the fact that you want to. If you want to, that is. It’s also not mandatory to worship a deity just because they approached you.
Best of luck in your search. If you have further questions, we’d be happy to answer them.
