Lol just had another long discussion about how the Miraculous Fandom's reaction to Lila is absolutely over the top, but also realized that it's full of double standards. Felix and Chloe are not better people than Lila Rossi.
Like Felix stole Adrien's identity twice. The first time he tried to ruin Adrien's life and then gave all of the Miraculous to Hawkmoth.
Chloe bullied all of her classmates, uses her status as the Mayor's daughter to not get in trouble at school, and then worked with Hawkmoth when the Miraculous wasn't given to her.
Lila lied to all her classmates about being like rich and famous, helped Gabriel Agreste try to get Marinette expelled, and worked with Hawkmoth willingly.
And I'd argue that Lila's villainy is actually a direct consequence of Marinette's actions.
"But Lila held a grudge" Why shouldn't she? Marinette hasn't shown her an ounce of kindness.
Marinette used her super hero form to embarrass Lila in front of Adrien. Then she apologized for it, but continued on to harass Lila in front of all their entire class. And she still does.
Lila has every reason not to like Ladybug or Marinette.
The thing about Lila is that she's a liar, yes, but it's not Marinette's job to be the Lila Rossi Lie Patrol. Lila's lies are going to fall apart already, like maybe not immediately, but they would. Marinette wronged Lila first, she didn't target her for fun (unlike Chloe) and her original goal wasn't to ruin anyone's life (unlike Felix). All she was doing was lying so people would like her and from my understanding, she does at the very least help her classmates. She babysits their siblings and junk!
How is she irredeemably evil, but everyone else can just be redeemed in y'all fanfiction? It's bogus.
