Star looked up, a little frazzled, after having just finally gotten the girls down for bed. The play room was quite a mess, toys everywhere on the floor, Star not having a chance to clean up before Alcina came home. "I'm so sorry. I wanted to get it cleaned up before you got back, but getting them all in the bath and down for bed was a lot more difficult tonight than normal." Sighing, the blonde looked down, not wanting to meet the piercing gaze of her boss, the woman she was hopelessly falling for, and see disappointment there. "Give me just a few more minutes and I'll have it all cleaned up for you."

Even as she stood there, left hand wrapped around the claw marks torn into her arm, blood hot and sticky, oozing between her fingers, Starlene didn’t feel scared around Alcina. It had been an accident, the maiden in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had just been trying to help and had gotten injured in the process. 

Her own dress was now ruined, pristine white now splattered with bright red. Well, they mustn’t allow it to go to waste. “My Lady, it was an accident.” Her arm stung as she moved it, eyes looking up to the woman standing almost four feet taller than her. “We shouldn’t waste the spilled blood. Feed, and then we can get my arm taken care of.”

The plan was simple and she made sure every member of her crew knew their part. She was going to get what she wanted, which was anything that she saw. It was the middle of the night, not a single torch to be seen in the streets. It was perfect, and she knew her crew was going to wake everyone and cause chaos. And everything was falling into place just as Starlene had planned it. It didn’t take much for her crew to distract the town’s militia--just a few gunshots and some glass shattering--enough for her to sneak off toward the castle out by the sea. 

It was easy enough to get inside, shooting out one of the intricate windows and she was able to slip inside. Star’s eyes roamed around at what would be easy enough to steal, glass crunching under her boots as she walked. She pocketed a few trinkets along her way to the stairs, heading up toward the bedrooms. She found her way through the room from the moonlight, gems and jewelry glinting in the dim. She was grabbing it by the handful, shoving it into her satchel on her hip, ready to see what else she could find in the castle.

As she turned from the room, she came face to face with another woman, brow arching as she reached for her own sword, her grip on it comfortable. “You should turn and run along while you still can.”

It had been so cold, glass ceiling shattered and her body freezing up. She hadn’t been able escape as the swarm of flies she was, the cold making it impossible. She was stuck in the library, trying to flirt her way into staying alive, but her screams as she was shot at thankfully brought her mother there. She watched her mother slice into Ethan, blood spraying as her vision blurred. Next thing Daniela knew was she was warm again, wrapped up in a tight embrace.

Her fingers gripped at Alcina’s arms, eyes squeezed shut for a moment. She didn’t like being weak like this, but she had been legitimately scared. She finally opened her eyes, letting out a gasping breath and relaxed in her mother’s embrace. “Mother--” She looked up to meet gold eyes, a smile spreading across bloody lips. “Thank you.”

She was half asleep, curled up on one of the chairs in front of the fireplace. Even with all of the windows shut, the halls seemed chillier than normal and it made Cassandra feel slow, stiff. It was a feeling she absolutely hated, and she wanted to get warmer so it went away. What surprised her, however, was the feeling of a blanket being draped over her body. She knew it wasn't either of her sisters, they were off doing their own thing. She figured it was just a maiden, one who was trying to be a little braver by coming so close to Cass.

But as her eyes flickered open, she saw her mother towering over her, watched the blanket leave her hands. She knew her mother loved her, but sometimes she felt as though she was the only one to get yelled at by her. Moments like this, though. These showed Cass that her mother truly cared. "Thank you, Mother."

she can feel alcina's gaze on her before she even looks up, knowing that the other woman was talking business with the group of men, but staring directly at starlene. finally, after a long sip of her champagne, star's eyes flick up to meet alcina's across the room, corners of her lips curving up slightly. she gave her head a subtle nod toward the door, a brow arching in question. was alcina just looking or did she want starlene to come rescue her from the conversation? she had a few simple lies that she could easily use and knew they would work. it all just depended on what alcina wanted.

She didn't want to look into Alcina's eyes, afraid to see rejection there. Sure they had some kind of fling going on for a while now, but it never hinted at being anything more than that. But of course Starlene couldn't keep ahold of her feelings and got attached, was falling for the other woman quickly. Her fingers were fidgeting with the hem on her shirt, finally flicking up to meet Alcina's. "I said that I'm falling in love with you." Saying that a second time didn't make it any easier and she looked back to the ground, face scrunching up as she fought back any emotions threatening to spill over.

When she didn't get a response right away, Star moved to grab her sweater from the back of the couch, pulling it on and getting ready to walk past Alcina to get she shoes. "I'm sorry. I know I probably ruined all of this. I can find someone else to be your assistant.."
