Haven't had much time to read any of the fics posted in the Old Glee Fic Fest started by the lovely flamingmuse, but I do want to contribute by posting a few recs.
As much as I love our Tumblr community, I do miss the old LJ days, when every Friday night I read through the Weekly Rec Post page on the kurt-blaine livejournal. I wish we had something like that on Tumblr.
Here are a few of my old favorites that I almost never see on a rec list, in no particular order:
Author's Summary: Blaine takes a job as Music Director at a Unitarian Universalist church to pay for grad school. Kurt is uncomfortable with this but finds his own way of fitting it into their lives. A story of liberal religion, complex relationship negotiation, family, music, marriage and a year in the lives of Kurt and Blaine.
I found this story fascinating. It truly is like no other Klaine fan fic story. Highly recommend. Also, there are little future bits in the verse here.

Where We Went Right by beautifulwhatsyourhurry
Author's Summary: Everyone seems to fuck like rabbits at Dalton Academy. Neither Kurt nor Blaine are an exception to this rule. But something that happens later after a drunken Warblers party could alter their relationship quite a bit. Set quite a few months into Kurt's stay at Dalton.
This is super-hot, S2 Blaine and Kurt as roommates at Dalton who can't keep their hands off each other. I have re-read this at least a dozen times. Warning: Infidelity.

No Day but Today verse by ladydreamer
Author's Summary: Amidst the confusion and desperation of the zombie apocalypse, Kurt and Blaine struggle to survive and remember that they are human. After a night trapped in a produce cooler, fueled by passion and fear, they are determined to be together before they die. When they manage to survive, they go off in search of their families, but not without a complication that changes everything once again.
So this has a lot of story elements I avoided when first started reading fan fic: zombies, mpreg and violence. Let me tell you--it hooks you immediately and you can't stop reading. Kurt as leader of this band of survivors is A-MAZING.

Brotherly Chats and Brotherly Chats II (a.k.a. The Penguin Incident) by flyblackbirdfly
Author summaries: Part one: Finn really needs to talk to Kurt and Kurt has been successfully avoiding said conversation all day. But when Finn comes to him with a twelve-pack of beer and a look in his eyes that says he really needs to talk, Kurt can't avoid it any longer. Part two: Kurt and Finn woke up after their drunken night of brotherly bonding shirtless in bed together with no knowledge of how they'd wound up in such a compromising position. What in the hell happened?
This is early!Klaine but AU because it assumes Kurt and Blaine are in the same grade and started having sex the summer after they got together. It's part of the (Mis)Adventures of Teenage Boys Verse. Hilarious, fun, sexy, endearing--I love both parts, but the second part is especially awesome.
