We just finished the completion of the current story chapter, and are doing a 5 year time skip and I’m silently screaming over everything that went down; and this is a good reminder I should post a recap of everything.

Most days for me! But personally I think your writing is amazing and it made me want to step up to what you achieve in your writing. I love your ability to give characters voice and dimensions. They always feel rounded and real.

Somedays it feels like I’m fishing for compliments, but I wasn’t, just seeing awesome writers and artists and other things on my dash then looking at what I’ve done... But thankyou for the compliment and that I encouraged you? That alone can fuel a trip to the moon.

Yes, and you're one of the people I think could do it 1000x better, Bugsie! I think we all feel like this about our writing, art, or any other creations sometimes...but just to keep things in perspective, I wanted to remind you that a whole lot of us really enjoy your work :3

Hi Rogue! Hope you are well! Can I ask a big dumb art question? I have noticed a lot of artists do a sketch shaded in greyscale and then add colour on top but I am not sure why? I am struggling adding depth into art and not sure if this is maybe why

Hey there dear! there is no such thing as a  dumb question really and especially this is absolutely not dumb. And, I actually use this technique a lot (though not all the time, it depends) because it is very practical. It involves doing a semi-render of light and shadows in monochrome and then adding color on top using gradient maps or overlay/darken/etc layers and then polish with color from that. The reasons why it is so handy are many: 1. it is faster 2. using grayscale means that you’re working with the range of shadows and lights only - what it does is that it allows you to visualize depth, dimension and contrast a lot better, it sort of lets you put in some solid groundwork, some structure, before moving on with colours. It takes years and years of studying to reach that sort of mastery with colour alone (like, I am not even halfway there) because local colour is so dependent on light and interaction with other colours so it’s just very easy to get it wrong, and correcting it is more complicated. 3. with this method you can adjust as much as you want and play around with color to see what works best: since you’re putting it in with layers that are on top, you can go back or tweak easily before settling.

It’s not exactly easy to control, it takes a bit of practice. if you look up ‘grayscale to color digital painting’ on YT you’ll find tutorials by Marc Brunet, Dave Greco (and Mohammed Agbadi that uses it a lot with lineart-oriented styles) and they’re very good! They used different methods but the gist is pretty much the same

21. Why do they get up in the morning? oof this is a nice question. Up until inquisition, just curiosity about what the world has in store. He’s a very ‘I want to see and experience everything under the sun’ type of person. Leading the inquisition is the first time he finds an actual purpose - one that has a bigger scope than living day to day, and while he might bitch and moan about it a great deal, he really enjoys it.
