So like . Inspiration from several places. Honestly would be a pretty horrific time lmao just bc of What makes up a ghost. Akira would have to perfect his poker face from growing up seeing ghosts bc some of the range from being like. Basically the person they were in life, complete with their memories and appearance... while some ghosts are just the remnants of strong emotions, typically at death. And there are rarely good emotions involved with death.
The Phantom thieves learn pretty early on that Akira can be Spacey. Oftentimes they'll catch him just staring at nothing, zoning out. In reality, he is Observing a ghost of some kind, oftentimes Really Fucking Horrific. Small bloody screaming thing off to the side of the road that is Impossible for him to ignore, stuff like that.
& he doesn't tell Anyone about his Sight Abilities bc he grew up being taught that no one would believe him, & that ppl actively thought he was either an attention hog or a Thief. He's Really closed off in this au.
