Spending days without you is slowly getting easier Yet I miss you at night when my mind is warped by the depths of my greatest fears And my eyes are tired from sleep or rather the lack there ofĀ I miss you in the loud shouts that stream from bitter silence And heavy waves of thunder that leave me curled under blankets heaving hard to catch my breath You were a cherry blossom tree with petals of poison Magnificent and deadly And as your petals fell in a fit of blissful turmoil I return burned by each that I reach out to touch I thought I'd learn a lesson earlier, or at least teach you one I tried to save you in holy baths wringing out the poison from your roots in the name of health and devotion I only wanted to be your panacea, but contagion seeped into my open wounds Leaving me paralyzed in fever dreams I could never quite forget
