RIP Phillippe Zdar. His productions with MC Solaar and releases as La Funk Mob on Mo Wax were big anthems at my first ever weekly club residency I promoted and DJed at in Brighton called Shake Yer Wig. The track Motor Bass Got Phunked Up got regular spins by me and many of the DJs who I booked to play there. It was a track that went down well at Phonic Hoop years later and a track I still play out at Sonic Switch too.
