This 200 ppg anthology is Volcan (Lagon #2), and attempting to describe this thing without tripping all over myself with overly verbose and flowery evocations of it's physical brilliance would be pathetic. So, here is the 10-cent version: The screenprinted cover, both inside and out, in design and execution, is stunning. The 16-color palate and near-flawless registration of the risograph printed interior pages is masterful. The artists whose stories (or more like impressions) grace this interior are among the finest and most fascinating personalities from North America and Europe. The sheer beauty of the object has prompted me to move it about my apartment in fits, obsessively seeking the best way to display it so as to reflect my deep appreciation of the form, you know, like a crazy person. After a long search, I was able to purchase this book from Brainfreeze Comics in Nashville (they seem to stock only the sticky-ickiest of the good-good, comix-wise) so thanks to Stewart for that!
