Jubilation As PDP Thrash APC, Wins Governorship Election. Adeleke Now Governor-Elect, Gboyega Oyetola Kicks ............. Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the early hours of today, emerged the winner of Osun State governorship election. Adeleke beat his closest rival, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to emerge winner. The election was held across the 30 local government areas of the state amid tight security with political parties adopting new methods of vote-buying. It also witnessed huge turnout of voters as the electorate trooped out enmass to cast their votes. Interestingly, as of press time, there was no record of violence. Whereas the Osun State chapter of the PDP claimed victory in the election, last night, affirming that collated results from polling units confirmed its emerging victory, the ruling APC said the claim was capable of setting the state on fire. 15 candidates The candidates, who took part in yesterday’s exercise, besides Oyetola and Adeleke, include a former Adeleke of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Lasun, of the Labour Party; Dr Oyegoke Omigbodun of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and Dr Akin Ogunbiyi of the Accord Party. Suspicion As APC Governors Visit The Most Beautiful PDP Bride Nyesom Wike In Port Harcourt, Rivers State ........... Some governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Friday met with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2023 elections. The governors include Kayode Fayemi; Rotimi Akeredolu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Ekiti, Ondo, and Lagos States respectively. Others in their entourage include the Ekiti State Governor-elect, Biodun Oyebanji; former Ekiti State governor and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Ayodele Fayose, among others. It was learnt that Wike, who lost the PDP presidential ticket to Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is meeting with the APC chieftains and others at his country home in the Port Harcourt area of the state. As of the time of this report, the purpose of the visit by APC governors and the subsequent meeting with their host is unknown. Before the APC governors’ visit, there had been reports that the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and Wike met in France. The reports were, however, debunked by the former Lagos State governor’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, who described them as “fake news”. But it appears the APC governors may want to bank on the recent fallout of Wike with PDP leadership after the main opposition party’s presidential primary to woo the Rivers governor to their side ahead of the 2023 presidential election. Bola Tinubu's Dummy Running Mate Masari Says He (Masari) Has Lost All His Educational Certificates ......... In light of several controversies trailing the supposed loss of Bola Tinubu’s credentials, his dummy running mate, Kabir Ibrahim Masari, has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) his school certificates were also missing. A sworn affidavit for the loss of some original documents submitted to the electoral commission by Mr Masari and seen by Peoples Gazette, showed that the APC vice presidential candidate had misplaced vital documents including C of O of one plot KT 17522 in Katsina state, his Grade II certificate from Katsina Teachers College and his primary school certificate. “That sometimes in January 2021, while on transit within Wuse Area, FCT-Abuja, I discovered that my original Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of Plot, No KT 17522, GRA Katsina, Katsina State; Certificate of Kaduna State Development Centre from 1994 – 1995; Grade II Certificate from Katsina Teachers’ College (KTC) from 1978 – 1983 and First Leaving School Certificate issued by Masari Primary, Katsina State, from 1972 – 1978, got lost,” partly stated the affidavit sworn by Mr Masari at the Supreme Court in July 2021 and submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022. “That all efforts made to trace the documents proved abortive hence this affidavit,” the affidavit added. The electoral law mandates candidates to submit their personal credentials that will be published for public scrutiny ahead of elections. Powerful Lagos Politician Bode George Reveals Bola Tinubu Did Not Attend Primary & Secondary School, Has No Educational Certificates. Tinubu Lied ............. Hours after a controversy started over the academic history of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a video has surfaced online of the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, challenging Tinubu to present his certificates. George, a staunch critic of Tinubu, has remained consistent in his claim that Tinubu did not attend Primary and secondary schools. George’s claim started trending after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published particulars of candidates where Tinubu said the certificates of his primary primary and secondary schools had been stolen. Immediately after the information went viral, the video of an ARISE TV interview with George began to trend.
