Guinness Blonde American Lager
So it appears the Guinness is breaking away from it's stout comfort zone and trying a new line of beer from around the world. The first amoung the series is an "American Lager" by the name of Guinness Blonde. Question is do we have a dumb blonde on our hands?
Scent: Grainy, watery, and copper like. Not too pleasing I'm afraid but I am recovering from a cold so I can be a little lenient. SCORE - 8/20
Taste: Crisp and hoppy for a lager with a gently roasted finish. somewhat watery in the middle but full easy flavors overall. SCORE - 16/20
Buzz: A little on the low side at %5.00 abv but just enough kick to feel it after two or three. Rest easy with this blonde lager for it won't over intoxicate.SCORE - 14/20
Hardiness: I liked it much better in a pint glass and it is a beer that wants you to taste bottle after bottle. With a solid pour and coldest temperature this beer works as a default lager.SCORE - 14/20
Price: This six pack was around $10.00. For an even tone lager that people wil accept but not necessarily rave over it is a bit over priced.SCORE - 10/20
FINAL SCORE - 62/100 or 6.2/10
HoptimisticThoughts: Like I said in Hardiness, this is a lageer beer drinkers would accept but not rave over. Worlds above the cheap adjunct lagers that were reviewed last month but still it falls short due to its price. at let's say $7.50 I would consider this a bigger bargain but an even lager like this just goes a little to high for my liking.
