His dear student of course. The delicious expressions Lai Junchen makes when dealing with Zhou Xing’s bs speak for themselves. I bet he wanted to throw hands multiple times so badly.
Lai Junchen hates nobles for their privilege and antagonizes Li Bing and co because of their opposing goals, but his grudge against Zhou Xing is very personal. This is the man who was ready to sacrifice him like a gambling chip not once but twice, despite being his mentor and a twisted sort of role model. He dismissed him and laughed when Lai Junchen came pleading for help, and overall looked down on him. And the most fascinating thing is that after both acts of Zhou Xing’s betrayal they had to reunite and act like nothing had happened (well, until Lai Junchen decided it was barbecue time). Their whole relationship is like that, walking a dangerous line between feigning politeness and being able to see through the other person, and I love that. These two assholes really deserve each other.
