Merry Christmas everyone!
The weather was very nice in Vienna so we went outside in the afternoon. We drove to Lake Blackshear and took my aunt’s two labrador dogs with us. We let them swim in the lake, throwing sticks for them to fetch, while we enjoyed the sun. Then we played soccer and spent some time on the playground.
It was strange to have such good weather on Christmas, not having to wear a jacket, but it was definitely fun!

Golfing at Lake Blackshear, Georgia
Great golf at a great value! Recognized as one of middle and south Georgia’s finest courses and best value for play, Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course or ’Vet’s Course,’ is open seven days a week throughout the year from 8 a.m. through dusk. Playing the course, you are offered picturesque lake views. The beauty of Lake Blackshear, along with the region’s mild climate, makes this a perfect place to enjoy year-round golf. Our course was designed by Denis Griffiths and was ranked by Golf Digest as a four star course. You will be challenged by expertly placed mounds, water hazards, and plenty of sand bunkers defining the holes and enhancing the sport. The Dwarf Bermuda greens are large and sloping and wide, while Tif 419 fairways wind through mounds and stands of tall loblolly pines.
The course offers a full-service clubhouse complete with food and beverage service as well as private meeting space. Perfect for corporate tournaments, fundraising events or individual play, golfers of all skill levels will enjoy Vet’s Course.
This beautiful and challenging golf experience is recognized as the best value in the south. For tee times call: 229-276-2377

Whole30 Challenge- Day5 & 6
Started writing Day 5 updates and never posted it. In a nutshell I felt great on Day 5. Energy, no allergy medicine, flatter stomach and the ability to resist sugar.
Day 6- I’m tired right now. It has been an busy weekend and a busy Monday. Still eating by the rules and I’m really liking it. I did have to take my allergy medicine today...see what had happened was...I broke out in some kind of hive and it’s probably an allergic reaction to almonds (which I knew I was allergic to a long time ago but thought I could try again) or poison ivy. I do work at a park so the latter is a possibility but I have a feeling that this is because of the almonds. That really stinks because of the amount that I ate, they were really good! So I took a Zyrtec to help counter whatever is making my elbows itch.
My stomach is noticeably flatter and my skin is brighter. I am not hungry at all. I don’t go to bed feeling so empty and I wake up ready to go (well, about as ready to go as I can). I don’t have that 3pm crash. Overall, I am really glad I started this challenge.
Guess what Lake Blackshear Resort is adding to our fun list of activities....(drum roll please)....paddleboards! We will be getting these in the next couple of weeks along with some brand new bikes. Keep watching for the day they are here. https://youtu.be/8RNPewqloNw?list=PLGmwsnEkOqt4_a0m2oiDwtyRlfV3lWvkV
