Zarina Hashmi: Anamnesis 1970-1989
Lakeeren presents a rare viewing of lithographs, woodcuts, threadworks, pin drawings, etchings and cast paper works of Zarina Hashmi’s 1970-1989. These works span a period of two decades, of various journeys of the artist, across different continents and cities, including New Delhi, Bonn, Tokyo, Paris, and Los Angeles. This body of works includes contrast of white on white embossed prints, as well as stark black lithographs, reflecting a conceptual turn in the artist’s oeuvre. Her cast paper works on the other hand, evoke memories of spaces, stories and conversations captured by the artist’s inner eye.
KAL (Tomorrow)
In her monographic exhibition Kal/ Tomorrow, Anita Dube meditates on the notion of contemporeanity by challenging the linearity of time. Writing Kal-Kaal-Kala-Kaala in Devnagari, a slippage between words is made visible through the alternation of accents that spell conceptual shifts between their etymologies. In this body of word-works, she maintains her engagement with the found-object and textuality; with sculptural forms and the intimacy and primacy of touch via velvet as skin. Like The Four Storied House, the work engages several registers; the performative, the visual, the political and the feminist; chronicling the present, as an act of marking time.

Even Infinity takes Time : A monographic exhibition by Waqas Khan
Waqas Khan in his 1st monographic exhibition in India approaches his art with skillfully- diligence in which he engages the sufist tradition along side a commitment to sacred geometry. By combining his skills as a print maker and miniature artist, he
creates meditative drawings aided with a calligraphic pen constructed of dots or “nuktas “ that intuitively create their individual pattern. In this manner, Khan’ s work evokes its own cosmology in which time and infinity are both called into question. However in his new body of work, Even Infinity Takes Time Khan manifest a way of being outside the prescribed matrix, breathing life into an eternal way of being.
