Hi Maddie! I'm curious to know: what is your favourite kind of liquorice? Are you leaning more towards the sweeter or saltier side of it? Any good brands you like? 👀 (Asking for me because I'm always on the lookout for good liquorice. 🧐😁)

Okay, so we have so many different ones, it's impossible for me to name favourites, but I think these are what my mind goes to when I think of liquorice:
They are salty, but not what you'd call strong. Unfortunately I've never really seen a bag like this - they're mostly available in pick-n-mix shops or movie theaters for some reason?
My current favourite (I don't want to say all-time, because it's fairly new), is this one:
It costs around 10 euro for a slab but it is so worth it! 🤤 You have to cut it yourself, and it's got that homemade feel. If you ever come to Denmark, definitely treat yourself to one of these! They come in all sorts of flavours, but the classic with salmiak and sea salt is my favourite ❤️
Another favourite of mine is Poletter, which I think have some mint in them too? Also they have a penguin, which is an added bonus:
As you can see, I tend to prefer salty, but these are also crazy delicious and they are sweet (but I assume that you are very familiar with these 😅):
I also like these which have pomegranate in them (but I think they still classify as salty?)
Also, you can get them as liquor shots and I've had so many of them in my uni years that they really should make me vomit just from the smell, but I still love them 🤣
Related to that, we have this hard candy that's half liquorice, half raspberry. We have a restaurant here that makes cocktails that taste like this - very yummy 😋
And then there's Heksehyl, which are probably the most offensive one on this list to people who don't like liquorice, but I like them because they have such a nice texture and are very salty (also: penguin!)
I used to find the idea of mixing chocolate and liquorice blasphemous but since this chocolate-liqourice ball craze that's been sweeping our country in recent years, I've been converted (liquorice ice cream is still an abomination, though) and if you put a jar of these in front of me, don't expect there to be any left for you....
I could go on and on, but I'll stop here, otherwise this turns into a food blog (also I'm craving liquorice now, so I'll go cut myself some pieces of Bagsværd Lakrids 😅)
