Wait, people actually criticize you for that? Look, writing isn’t fun unless you do it for yourself. You do you and don’t worry about what others think. Personally, I think you have good instincts and you should do what feels right as you’re writing.

Yes! After I posted a chapter for Looking For Heaven that I think was 8 or 9k, I got an anon message that said something like “you know longer isn’t always better” and I just assumed it was in regards to that. Which was amusing in a way, because no one had a gun to anon’s head forcing them to read it? But it kind of rankled me too, and made me worry that I might be putting people off with my chapter lengths. I fully own that I write really long ones; I just have a lot to say, I guess.

Appreciation: Okay first of all, if you haven’t read everything the author has written, please do yourself a favor and start now. I can guarantee you’re gonna speed through this multi-chapter and then wish you had slowed down and enjoyed it more before it was all gone. Every minor male character makes an appearance in this fic as one of Jemma’s hilarious match-ups. Plus, Hunter is on point and featured heavily, which I am always here for. It’s light, it’s fun, it’s cute, and has all the running jokes you would expect from @lalallicat throughout. Trust me, if the group conspiring to meddle into FitzSimmons’ love life via fake profiles and secret dates is your thing, read this!

awww thank you! i know i kind of disappeared for like nine months there, which was a combination of the fact that i actually stopped watching the show, working on my thesis (which not only took up time by itself but also sapped a lot of my will to write anything that was not my thesis) and also the fact that most of the stuff i have been working on/thinking about are big huge projects, rather than the short little stuff i was firing off pretty regularly there. i actually prefer longer stuff over short, which means that i publish fics irregularly usually but when i do put stuff out, it’s long, which i hope makes up for the long gaps. like the project i’m working on right now will probably be 80k-100k all published at once, which will hopefully make up for the fact that it’s been so long. (there will probably at some point be more of mind reader au. probably. i write it in my head sometimes)

Just wanted you to know, I just watched The Last Five Years, and I was trying to figure out why some of the lyrics sounded so familiar when I had never heard any of those songs before. Then once it got to 'I Can Do Better Than That', I realized they were all titles of your Fitzsimmons college AU. Then I went and re-read the whole series, which cheered me up considerably after watching that movie.

Yup, that’s where they’re all from--I love the Last Five Years so much and my FS breakup AU is actually sort of a homage to it, albeit with a happy ending.
