I find myself in strange company, it seems. Tell me, masters and mistresses, who are you, and what place is this?
That sisterly bond..
It was a morning like no other. Mary awoke feeling rather unwell. Matthew was still very much asleep which left Mary to deal with things herself. Her gaze looked toward that of her husband as he shifted within his sleep - a small smile appeared upon her lips but that was not to stay for much longer. There was a feeling of sheer sickness that overcame her oesophagus. Mary was quick to throw the covers off from over her as she clambered out of bed. Quickly she made her way through to her bathroom where she soon began to throw up.
This caused Matthew to awaken. He frowned as he rubbed his eyes. Getting himself out of bed, Matthew made his way through to the bathroom to see his wife bent over the toilet. He worried to think what could possibly be wrong with her. Just as she thought she'd finished, the sickness would start once more. Matthew felt helpless.
Instead, He wandered back and rung the bell for one of the staff before then moving his way out of their bedroom and across the hall to Sybil's room. He tapped gently on the door. "Sybil?.. Would you be able to help a minute please?" Matthew then called from the other side of the door. He knew if anyone could help it would be Sybil - being a nurse and all she was probably Mary's better hope.

Arriving at Downton
So this was Downton Abbey. If he thought that Crawley House was garish, he was horribly mistaken. It wasn't even garish in a bad way but...it was just too much for him. He considered himself a simple man that wanted to live within his means--and although his means had changed, he supposed--he didn't need a gigantic house or more like castle to make him happy. He would be perfectly fine with the old house that he had grown up in instead of this Gothic palace out of a fairytale.
He let the man at the door--footman, that was right--take his coat and hat and exhaled, waiting for his new family to show him in. He was nervous, and it showed. Even if he didn't want any of this, he didn't want to make himself look ridiculous either, as he had with his eldest cousin earlier. He hadn't meant to offend her, truly, he had just let his mouth get ahead of him--a terrible habit of his that he needed to shake.
“Oh, what pleasant surprise.” The Duke straightened himself out and offered a fraudulent smile. “How may I service you on this fine day?”
