Ακρωτήρι Φαλακρο | νήσος Λήμνος.
Μπορείτε να φανταστείτε πως θα έδειχνε η λάβα αφού βγει από τα βάθη της γης και ενωθεί με τη θάλασσα;
Στα βόρεια της νήσου Λήμνος, στο Ακρωτήρι Φαλακρό, θα δείτε το αποτέλεσμα του φαινομένου αυτού που θα σας εντυπωσιάσει. Φυσικά γλυπτά σε κιτρινωπές αποχρώσεις να σβήνουν προς τη θάλασσα και εσείς να στέκεστε στο μέσο δύο κόλπων ατενίζοντας την απέραντη θάλασσα.
Μια πρόταση για βουτιά, αν έχετε ακόμα λίγο νεράκι μαζί σας, είναι η κοντινή παραλία το «Πηγαδέλι της Παναγιάς». Παραλία μοναχική και πανέμορφη, αποκαλύπτει σε σας κάτι εξίσου μαγικό – ένα φυσικό πηγάδι στο μέσο της.
Στη Λήμνο κάτι λάθος συμβαίνει με τις σημάνσεις. Οι ταμπέλες δεν είναι ορατές ούτε και σε αυτό το σημείο, είναι επίσης μόνο στα Ελληνικά, νομίζω όμως πως κανείς δε χάνετε. Μετά από μια ήπια διαδρομή 1,3 χλμ, μέσα στα βουνά -με τα ιδιαίτερα βράχια που θα σε κάνουν να πιστέψεις πως μάλλον κάστρο θα αντικρίσεις, κι όμως- μια άσκεπη εκκλησιά χτισμένη στην εσοχή ενός βράχου ψηλά θα εμφανιστεί μπροστά σου.Να βλέπεις τον ήλιο να χάνεται πίσω από το βουνό Άθως.Η δράση είναι εδώ. Γνωστή απέραντη παραλία με επισκέπτες από όλο τον κόσμο που έρχονται να απολαύσουν windsurfing, kitesurf και άλλα θαλάσσια σπορ στις διακοπές τους.
Cape Falakro | Island of Limnos.
Can you imagine what would lava look like after emerging from the depths of the earth and blending in with the sea?
Like scoops of ice cream, perhaps?
You can witness the impressive result of this natural phenomenon at the north part of the island of Limnos, specifically at cape Falakro. Imagine yellow colored rock formations that look like sculptures fading out upon contact with the sea and you, standing there in between two bays and gazing at the endless sea.
If you still happen to have a few more drops of drinking water, there’s a beach nearby called ¨Pigadeli tis Panagias¨ (Mary’s little well) which is perfect for a refreshing dip. Isolated and beautiful as it is, the beach also reveals a wonderful feature. A natural shaped well in the middle of its length.
Apparently, there is a slight issue with the signage in Limnos. Signs cannot be seen here as well as other places, and although they are only in Greek, no one ever gets really lost. After a moderate mountainous 1,3km route – with unusual rocks that would more likely remind you of castles- you’ll face a roofless church built high on the rock’s indentation waiting for you. And then watch the sun fading away behind the mountain Athos. The action is here. A famous wide beach with people visiting from all corners of the world to enjoy windsurfing, kitesurf and many other water sport activities throughout their holidays.
