i'd love to hear some tidbits (fun facts???) abt amber and itzal if you're willing to share!!
OH I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE TIDBITS ABOUT THE BOYS 💖
Amber
The Bright Prince, second in line for the throne of the Radiant Court after his older sister Bertine
(White-haired anime boy but he's a himbo)
Little bit of a party boy, mostly just wants to have a good time and make sure his friends are having fun too
0 interest in the actual workings of the Radiant Court, really only does social facing public outreach stuff to help out his sister
Has lived in the capital his whole life with occasional visits to other major cities
Has a sword and knows how to use it, even if it is supposed to be mostly ornamental
(Deeply prejudiced where it comes to rural culture and country beliefs, dismissing it as superstition or tall tales)
(He means well though and he can change his mind, it just takes a bit of a hard knock to get him going in the right direction)
Itzal
The Shade King, appointed leader of the Shrouded Court now that his mentor has stepped down and named him her successor
(Maybe has a death wish but won't admit it)
Awkward conversationalist, often loses his train of thought and tends to be a little scattered
Tends to be very careless with his health and safety and has a reputation among his friends as an unrepentant daredevil
Was very frail in his early childhood, narrowly survived several bouts of grave illness
Got more hale once he hit his teenage growth spurt, but still believes he's living on borrowed time
(Has a lot of deep-seated and justifiable anger toward the Radiant Court for their treatment of their country 'vassals')
(Also has a lot of prejudice against magitech on the whole and is pretty resistant to changing his mind about that)
is there a cat girl heaven...
all catgirls go to heaven. it is their heaven which becomes our hell.

hey kuto why
I don’t know I guess it’s kinda just that
“well that doesn’t look very much like bobdude” you said, astutely. That’s cause it’s only half bobdude cause this is another collab sweetie. This sweetie comes to you courtesy of @lamphoera who draws some seriously cool stylized horses, if you’ve never seen em go check em out.
I really like this one actually, it’s got a sort of grim fairytale vibe to it that I’m really diggin. I’m normally shooting for in your face cute so this was a great way to stretch that bit of creativity. Got to play around with color on some “darker” more desaturated tones that I think fit really well with the overall.
Anyways, thanks for letting me ruin your sketch lamp! I think I learned a lot from this one.

“how dare you preserve your pokemon” says the 10-year-old with 500 wild rats locked in PC stasis

it’s not inherently wrong but the implication is that she’s done it out of her own desire to control every aspect of the things she considers worthy of her love, culminating in ultimately freezing them so she can “enjoy” them in a way they have no way of objecting to – which makes her accusation of the player doing the same hit harder as well.
These are really good points, it’s addressing the morality of a basic game conceit (gotta catch ‘em all!) while directly drawing comparisons between the villain and the player.

I guess maybe it’s partly because she’s never explicitly stated to be using them for scientific research– it’s just a morbid and possibly unethical (if we go with the ‘she froze them alive’ theory) personal collection for her amusement, like an eccentric billionaire who keeps things like mummies and extinct animals in private galleries
I guess that’s still my point - it’s undeniably weird, but even then I don’t see the issue with doing those things? Or at least I don’t find them personally unethical. I absolutely think their purpose was to expand on Lusamine’s inability to let go, but as mentioned above, it also asks the player to re-evaluate their pokemon collections. Shiny collections and the pokebank are... basically the exact same thing? Which is most likely The Point.
Of course, this point is kind of loses its edge in the context of Poke Pelago - you no longer keep your collection in stasis, but you do send them off to toil in the mines, so uh, I’m not sure if that’s really any better.
