SURPRISE! Double feature of my underrated faves: lampreys and lungfish! <3333
Source is SHARKEEE ON TWITTER who posts tons of original amazing wildlife shots and videos but I needed to show you what lamprey look like mating, you won’t regret it especially not when one of them is still so worked up it starts swinging a boulder around with its face
recommended pride activity: going to the local fish elevator with your friends and losing your minds every time a lamprey swims by the viewing window

today's vertebrate.........geotria australis
geotria australis has a big beautiful pouch near his mouth, which he uses for storing his fancy rock collection! he's got many kinds of rocks in there, and it would take me many lifetimes to list even a fraction of them!
don't worry though, the comical amount of rocks inside his sack doesn't impede him from enjoying his other hobbies in any way
shlompiness rating: sack

I will never not love lampreys. I went to the Oregon Zoo recently for a friend's birthday party, and got to see this impressive pile of jawless, ancient fish. Sure, maybe they're not as charismatic as salmon, but they benefit from dam removal and habitat restoration just the same. Do it for the salmon and the lampreys!
