Hey I love your blog and you're so very talented! I'm thinking about getting into embroidery, but I have zero experience and I don't have a clue where to start. Do you have any advice you could pass along? Thanks!! :D
I will be posting a ‘getting started’ tutorial soon, I just want to make it as good as I can.
Some pointers for now though, of you’re just starting:- Keep your designs simple. Don’t over complicate things, make a flower or animal you like.- Minimal colours. If you don’t want to get confused with what goes where just try and stick to one or two colours.- Basic supplies. You don’t need to. It anything fancy. I would recommend an embroidery hoop, embroidery floss, needles and scissors. For fabric you can get half a yard of basic calico from any fabric store and it’s quite cheap.- Simple stitches. Try and stick to some of the easier stitches. I recommend: backstitch, chain stitch, running stitch and satin stitch.
I hope this helps for now. Have fun getting started and keep watch for my 'getting started’ tutorial!!
Everyone is telling me that
I should cut you out of my life
Yet you remain under my skin,
In my thoughts, and within reach.
I have come to realize that
My body is my temple
And your main goal is
To distory the cracked façade around me
You are an addiction
Under which I would do anything
Yet I know now that you only care for
My body and not my mind
Part of me wishes
To remove you from my mind
But you have seeped into my everything
Like bleach; ever spreading and
Permanent
I think certain people come into your
Life to magnify life’s experiences
And others to weigh you down
With insecurities, pain, and misery
When we first met I thought you were
Going to lift me up from the trenches of
My darkest innermost thoughts
But, after reflection, I’ve relieved that
You only made the situation worse
Fuckboy
The only place I felt okay was
In your arms
Yet now you only see me as someone
To fuck or as a friend
I find it ironic that after a day of silence
You would ask if I was okay
Of course I’m not okay,
I lost you before I even had you
Are you studying a language?
in college, no. I took one Spanish class to complete my foreign language requirement and have additionally studied latin and hebrew in the past, though!
Did that guy call you?!
nope, he hasn’t got my number yet, but like he asked for both numbers (mine and my friend’s, the one he made out with), this whole situation is just so funny
