"Hey hey hey War, what do you call it when you're freezing? A cold War."
“….Shut up, Lance.”
🔥
The men seemed to just appear out of nowhere. One moment there had been no one and the next she was surrounded by Federation soldiers. Ten to one certainly wasn’t great odds. Sure, she could just shoot one guy in the head and maybe kill a second guy, but that still left eight more to pump her guts full of lead. Deciding that she didn’t want to get killed today, War tossed her rifle to the ground and put her hands behind her head like she was told. Well, she assumed that’s what she was being told. War didn’t speak Spanish. She slowly sank down to her knees as two men approached her with handcuffs. Well, this was great. Hopefully Lance was doing a bit better than she was right now.
The man in charge stepped towards her and opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Instead, a bullet shot through his skull, splattering blood everywhere. The men quickly raised their rifles and looked around, trying to figure out where the new assailant was. Two more shots were fired, taking out two more men and adding to the confusion. Seizing the opportunity, War grabbed her rifle and drove her elbow into the man on her right before shooting him in the chest. The man to her left was about to fire but the unknown shooter got him first. The rest of the men were quickly mowed down from a combination of both her and the other shooter. Once the men were dead, War straightened up and slung her rifle over her shoulder, already knowing who it was. “I had everything under control, you know…"
Lance rides down the barracks aisle heelys past all the MES. He glanced at War while rolling passed her. "Good evening." He simply said before gliding out the door on the heelys.
"...Did he put wheels in his boots?" She questioned as Lance left. All the Alphas in the room were confused as to what just happened. One of the older boys smiled. "We should trip up his wheels." War contemplated this for a moment. "Let's do it."
"Don't touch her!" (Rev up those fryers.)
War was shocked when she saw Lance step in front of her. It wasn't often the man was serious but his tone of voice left no room for question. He was pissed. It suddenly occurred to War that Lance had never actually seen them train before. He may be a trainer but he was still new and doing other various jobs. Slowly, War picked herself up off the floor, having just been backhanded by the other trainer. "It's fine, Lance..." She whispered to her friend, not wanting him to get into trouble.

[Lance is also on the growing list of people who are close to War! The lean mean Marine was one of the first non-MES War ever befriended. The two are nothing but trouble when they are together though. Lance may just be the most childish person War has ever met, but she loves being around him anyway. He adds lots of excitement in her life and he can always make her laugh, mostly by making a fool out of himself. The two are almost always getting into trouble, mostly instigated by Lance, but they have a very serious friendship. No matter how much fun they have, the two will always back each other up and look out for one another no matter which one of them may be in the wrong.]
Lance walked over to the shopping cart War was pushing around in aisle, he plopped a bag of gummy worms and Colossal Berry Crunch cereal in her cart. "We'll need these in the field."
War raised an eyebrow as Lance dumped more items into the cart. "Seriously? What are they?" She picked up the gummy worms and examined them. "What...what are these? What do we need them for?"
"You must be Jay. I've heard a lot about you, from War that is." The man took off his sunglasses and extended his arm out for a shake. "Name's Staff Sergeant Lance Daniels. War speaks somewhat highly of you.. somewhat."
Jay crossed his arms over his chest and looked the man over skeptically, “War, huh? You see, I have a hard time believing this, because one, War’s not exactly a social butterfly, and two, people outside of this team,” he gestured around him, at the base, to indicate the task force, “don’t know me and don’t know her. So... how do you really know us?”
