Lands of Magic is an interactive challenge community that used to focus solely on magical fandoms (hence the name), but now welcomes any fandoms.

“What is an interactive challenge community?” you may be asking. You know what fandom challenges are? Like such-and-such week or fandom bingo? To crib from fanlore “...an organized activity in which participants agree to perform or produce fan activities or fanworks according to some predetermined criteria.“

Well an interactive challenge community has participants split into teams. In this case there are two teams - The Summer Court and The Winter Court. Then individuals try to gain points for their team by participating in challenges.

For example, I’m participating in the Promotion challenge right now, by putting up a promo post on my blog! :P

The types of challenge vary, with traditional fanart and fanfic options, icon exchanges, or even just quickly putting together an online jigsaw puzzle.

I joined because I wanted to be slightly more social in fandom, and because I wanted a little push to work on creative things more. The effectiveness of that last one has been debatable... XD But I have gotten to chat with other people a bit in the comments, and there’s even a newly opened Discord.

So if any of this sounds appealing to you go ahead and hit up that link! If you want to join my team, tell them to add you to The Summer Court (and mention me to get us points :P), and if you want to fight my team, tell them to add you to The Winter Court (and don’t mention me to NOT get us points XD).

Lands of Magic is looking for new members

Do you like writing fanfic, creating icons or gifs, making moodboards, creating fanmixes? Then the Lands of Magic landcomm is the place for you. Weekly posts give you the chance to stretch your creativity and earn points for your team, and you can create for any fandom, be it TV show, movie, book or whatever your heart desires. It's a low-pressure, super fun challenge and my leader at Team Summer is super supportive and helpful.
