It can never be stressed enough that the film was made in Britain and Ireland, that most of the filming was done in studios,that the crew never set a foot in Asia, that all the Himalayan and Indian sceneries were painstakingly painted sets (glass shots and hanging miniatures), and that the artistry and dedication that went into this gem is something almost unimaginable.
