"El viento soplaba con tanta fuerza que al salir la puerta se cerró de golpe antes de que yo tuviera tiempo de hacerlo. Unas gotas más gruesas que las demás caían desde las cornisas sobre mis manos. La lluvia resbalaba por las aceras, hacia la calle. Cada vez que atravesaba una calle, la corriente de agua, demasiado ancha para pasar por encima, sumergía uno de mis pies. El agua que caía por los canalones, pegados a las casas, corría por la calle como si alguien acabara de vaciar un cubo. Las mangas de mi chaqueta no tardaron en mojarme las muñecas. Parecía que no me hubiera secado las manos después de lavármelas.⠀ Llegó un tranvía vacío. Lo habían limpiado por la noche. Las bombillas que lo iluminaban tenían la tristeza de las luces que olvidamos apagar antes de dormirnos."⠀ ⠀ "The wind was blowing so hard that as I left the door it slammed shut before I had time to do so.
