Lane Boy and Lavish are the same song, just the POV is from opposite sides of the fame spectrum. I will not elaborate, this is just how things are in my head. (I might elaborate if I put more thought into it, just the idea has been haunting me for months and I needed to share it)

no bc like. being told to find a niche and stick with it in lane boy, to literally find a lane and stay in it, and lavish being so outside the usual sound we've come to expect from twenty one pilots.

the rebellious anger of lane boy "they say stay in your lane, boy/but we go where we want to" while still sounding very much like a twenty one pilots song, and not being out of place sonically, vs the more confident, surefooted energy of lavish, while it sounds like almost nothing else twenty one pilots has ever made, a more true to form version of lane boy, being so far outside of their usual lane, yet not feeling the need to comment on that fact within the song itself.
