“A’right. Gimme three.”
Angel didn’t recall carnival game prices being so steep, but he’d made a promise to win a prize for his daughter at the festival. She was home sick and couldn’t attend, despite looking forward to the event for weeks. When it came to his little girl, Angel refused to play the role of cheapskate. So when he arrived at the bottle ring toss game and spotted a gigantic unicorn plushie, he sucked it up and fished a $5 out of his wallet then handed it over to the booth operator in exchange for 3 tiny, yellow plastic rings. Angel tilted his head, sizing up the rows of translucent green bottles. He pursed his lips as he peeked over at the other person who was attempting to play the game from the other side of the booth, trying to see if they had a good strategy.
