Home is where the heart is
Events happen after the rebels reach the capital
A man carefully hid himself under his cloak, it didn’t take long for him to find his target. The wind swordsmaster in the Royal Army was easy to spot, after all her eyes were that of a piercing emerald that was hard to miss.
Lucky for the man in the cloak, she was alone today. Of course, as one of the best soldiers in the Royal Army, there was no doubt she knew he was tailing her. The soldier made her way into a small deserted alley, an unusual choice for the average citizen; but for a soldier like her, being in a place like this only gave her the freedom to deal with her opponent with as little disturbance as possible.
The man followed the soldier into the alley, and he couldn’t help but smile when he realised what she was planning. 'Leya hasn’t changed one bit,' he thought.
Turning into the corner, the man in a cloak was surprised to find that the soldier was gone..
Or maybe not. He found a small blade pushed against his neck, from the soldier standing behind him.
“I don’t know if you’re a thief, a robber or even a rebel. But if you don’t cooperate I will kill you.” the soldier spoke, her smooth voice showing no mercy.
A pause.
“Will you?” the man replied, he figured his voice shouldn’t have changed from then.
The soldier froze. 'No way..'
The blade dropped onto the ground from the soldier’s loosened fingers broke the silence between the two. The soldier remained at her spot as the man in the cloak picked up the blade from the ground. Her vision starting to blur from her tears.
He pulled the hood of his cloak down and held out the blade for Leya. “Yours, I believe?” he said, smiling at the familiar face. She’s barely changed, still as beautiful as ever, despite the tears making their way down her cheeks.
Leya tentatively reached out for the man’s stubbled face, “Lan?” she choked out, and quickly covered her mouth with the other hand as she started to sob.
“Yeah, it’s me. I’m home, Sis!” Langdon nodded profusely, he too was tearing up.
There was so much he needed to say but it’s as if they all got swallowed up by the moment. For now, he was going to enjoy being home again. Even if it wouldn’t last for long.
‘I’m home.’
‘Welcome back.’
