About
Welcome to the new year!
This blog was originally meant to be a travel journal for my 2012 study abroad at Nankai University (南大) in Tianjin, China. I only spent the summer there, and it ended way too quickly, but the journey didn’t end there. Since then, I’ve graduated and am living and working full time in midwestern America. It may seem like a difficult place for an Asian-language student to pursue their interests, but I still search for ways. Despite not moving to the coasts or Asia like many of my classmates, I refused to give up on my hard work, passions, or hobbies. My life is still filled with language study, exploration, and cross-cultural exchange, although outside of the University environment, it definitely takes more intentionality.
I wanted to blog throughout 2017 and share advice, recommendations, and encouragement to other language students.
There will be recommendations / reviews on:
Language-learning tools and tech
Shows
Podcasts
Other blogs
Thoughts on current events
Occasional life updates
KDrama reviews, because as millennial Asia-watchers, you can’t deny having fallen in love with at least one Hallyu star ;)
Thanks for reading. See you soon!
