He never hated them, he just didn't see the point in them because Fugaku was the one who taught him all of the truth behind them.

Having a little brother who was excited for each holiday and whose heart he couldn't bear to break makes a big difference, and at Mikoto's heavy refusal to allow Fugaku to shatter Sasuke's excitement during the holidays, he slowly changed from not caring for them to appreciating them. 

It all ties in to him realizing Fugaku was full of it and this was a time he could be happy. So the sweater obsession began. (It's also a good excuse to lavish Sasuke with presents for 6 months, excluding Valentine's day and Easter.]]

Hey so do you think Itachi would try to plant his own vegetable garden to use when he's cooking for Sasuke? Fresher and no pesticides and all that? Of course his cooking would ruin it all anyways but how bad are his gardening skills do you think.

I think he'd make a decent gardener, but these things require care and he might not be around every day to tend to it. If he could, I'm sure he'd end up with a nice harvest, and i'm sure sasuke wouldn't let him touch the tomatoes once theyre ripe, pfft. Gotta eat them before he ruins them with his cooking.]]
