@langvor | march & nibs , university verse.
nibs usually doesn’t drink, and there’s a good reason for that. either it’s just simply because he doesn’t drink often or it has always been so, he has never been able to hold his liquor well. however, when it’s all of them together celebrating the end of their projects, he finds himself unable to say no. and after a few drinks at the bar they are frequenting, he slowly gets woozier, reservations gone now, more courageous as he laughs and talks. at some point in the night, he leaves for fresh air, suddenly distracted by the colorful district and flashing lights. he can’t quite figure out how long it has been, but having sobered up a little, he knows he strayed quite far away from the bar now, at a complete loss to where he actually is. when he takes his phone out of his pocket, it’s dead, and for a moment, he whines, one hand going up to his hair to ruffle it, as if it will clear his thoughts.
after a moment of panic, he looks around, not expecting to find anyone familiar so late in the night. however, when he spots coach march just leaving the grocery store, hands full of bags- his eyes widen, unsure if he’s actually there. even the sight of him makes his heart beat faster, and while he would normally be better at hiding the fondness on his face, he fails to do so now with the influence of alcohol. “coach marchie ?!” he exclaims, the nickname falling from his lips without thought, feet taking him towards the man. his previous panic is long forgotten now that he’s next to him, and words fall from his lips one after another, some of them slurring together, but it’s easy to spot his excitement and happiness. “it’s you ! it’s so good to see you — do you know where we are ? i was just drinking with the boys but- i think i left for a moment ? then there were these signs, and — i really don’t know where i am - which was scary for a moment but ! i found you !”
