I think this is a theme that I return to often. You should not have to earn the right to be loved in any form. To love someone is not a transaction, if it is it is not love. So often we find ourselves wanting to be loved that we do all we can to please or prove to people they should love us. But in the end that is a lonely existence.

The key to all this is self love. And when you love yourself, you surround yourself with people that care about you beyond what you can do for them. To "deserve" love does not exist. We are human, we love, therefore to be human is to be love and be loved. This can take many forms platonic or romantic but it is still the same, goodness and kindness exists because people continue to care. You are loved.

You are loved, you are wanted, you are needed. If you disappeared, you would be missed.

Thought about this idea for a comic for a while. Just because something resolves, doesn't mean it didn't have long term consequences. People are complex; and yet we are simultaneously unimaginably strong but fragile. Sometimes we say things that hurt people we care about and ourselves. So, we must not forget that ones value starts with oneself and understanding that we mean something to someone be it family, friend, or pet.

Life is hard, the world is broken. But in that you exist, and you are in the hearts of many and help shape the people around you. You are important, you would be missed.

I'm honestly surprised by how much my art has changed in just three years. I wasn't expecting to see such a difference from start to finish, but here I am drawing the same character again and seeing how much my own art has changed.

Thank you everyone that has been there from the beginning and watched this journey. Especially my friends that have encouraged and pushed me to continue drawing and experimenting. I've learned a lot and have a lot to still learn, but that's just part of the process.

[A Gift]

Life is just funny in how it throws people into your life. Sometimes it's when you don't expect it or it's something that happens naturally. There is something about finding someone who so easily understands and harmonizes with you. And sometimes that takes a turn. How vivid is the longing that happens when you realize that someone who fallen into your life might mean more. It's painful and the emotion terrifying. To risk getting hurt or being rejected feels like it could be the end of the careful balance and flow of a relationship. That said, some people are worth giving that love to....others are not.

Should you act upon it and not waste time, or wait in hopes it resolves itself naturally? I have yet to find the answer myself. To love so deeply is to fear as equally. In time may the heart take courage...while there is still time.

[Cafuné]

Cafuné is one of those words that doesn't have a word in English. I learned it in Brasil when I lived there. The best way I could describe it is the act of caressing or running your fingers through someones hair (or fur in some cases). Fazer cafuné is considered an affectionate action. (Acho que fazer Cafuné é muito fofo em qualquer contexto.)

Wow this is a comic I made like years ago at this point. Well, guess I'll start sharing some of these. Poor Emmet is a bit touch starved.
