abolish x his lantern would actually be so cute because imagine him swinging his lantern around for fun and giggling about it. it is actively lit btw and he keeps accidentally almost setting stuff on fire but thats ok theyre having fun yayyy yayyyyy

I saw your post about Abolish x his lantern and please consider: the lantern (or well, the fire inside the lantern) is sentient

Don't worry you're so fine!!! I do like this idea a lot :] I don't 100% know how that au works but I really like any version of lanternlocke. I really like the idea of him curling up next to it for warmth and just feeling so safe because there's something there for him, especially before he got a bed and was still sleeping on the floor. And I like to imagine that even after he gets home he still sleeps with his lantern lit next to him, and I really like @coppercards's idea of it becoming a soul lantern after he's cured

Abolish finally gets back home with his lantern, even if it isn't the same home he wishes he was in.

Abolish gets stuck in a cave while it snows outside. Thankfully, he has his lantern with him to keep himself warm.

the lantern's sentience comes from the Lantern Thrash ability, so when Abolish gets briefly turned into a vampire, the fire goes out completely because it loses all the human abilities when turned

Abolish got so attached to the lantern, that it was rarely ever unlit. So there was a short period of time between them being turned and cured where that familiar warmth and company of the lantern is just completely gone. A part of him is terrified that it won't ever relight even if he is cured.

It does end up relighting once he's cured, and also maybe turns into a soul lantern because I like the visual of it. He still carries it around as much as possible after leaving Oakhurst

I forgor to answer this ask for a few days but Anyway. I really really love this idea so much… I think I’ve seen a couple posts about Abolish’s lantern being sentient before and it’s so so cutes to me. Him getting so attached to his lantern but telling himself that he’s actually normal and doesn’t care about anyone or anything at all, only to freak out internally whenever the fire goes out because oh god what if it never comes back and he just destroyed his lantern forever. Of course, he doesn’t think too hard about how panicked he was until after everything is fine again, when he’s finally like “… hm. well I’m not thinking about That.”
