Lanthar, the blood cultists from my very first one shot.

(I ran Flesh and Blood by Ginny D)

I haven't had a chance to make a long detailed backstory buttt what I do have is that he is a human who became fascinated by necromancy and the intricacies of the physical form (muscles, tendons, skin, bones etc.) As a child he would collect any and all bones and dried skin he came across and tended to stitch patterns into his own skin as a form of art.

Eventually he became interested in blood magic and magic that could alter your body and I presume swore loyalty to some kind of flesh god? His goal is to enhance his own body, physical form to be stronger and malleable. To be able to make art of flesh and his flesh into art.

Our party ended up cornering him and getting the information from him and he became smitten with our lovecraftian Warlock who immediately shared in his passion and asked about his work. He ended the one shot by gently slipping a ring of necrotic resistance on her finger after saving her from one of the monsters and helping the party defeat the bbeg.

My friend (who plays the Warlock) joked that they would probably travel together afterwards sharing in their fascination with flesh and undeath

My group is so awesome and it was so much fun that I am hoping to run another adventure for them soon.
