VIP area here is always quiet, but it's especially quiet tonight, because this is business. Good business, if the night goes well, and finally the leg up he needs.
Because boy, does he need it.
"Surprised you're down for this, Lara - given uh, our last meeting, and the fucking months of fucking stone silence and, you know. Mutual involvements."
The smirk he wears is half-joking, half-sniveling. "But you know, glad you're open to sensible discussion."
He's a little nervous, because his normal backup isn't here - she isn't anywhere. It makes him feel very exposed, and makes his nose twitch because he smells a rat. But that's a problem to deal with once the two of them have this sorted out.
He takes his seat, eyes a drink laid out before him. "So, change of heart, why? Guy and gal before you were pretty hard line, it seemed."
