Moving your entire contents can be a lengthy and draining process as you’re constantly between your two homes, unless of course you have a large moving van. Packing all of your belongings can be difficult too depending on how organised you are; some people just pack their car with bags and balance their furniture on the back seat, whereas other people like to store everything in boxes so they know where everything is, should they need to find it.

Leaving it to the last day!

If you're planning on moving house or have items to ship overseas, and you need to order some packing boxes and packaging materials, then please don't leave your order to the last day!

Based on many years of experience and having served thousands of customers, we regularly get customers who haven't left enough time to order and receive their packaging requirements in time and so it all rides on everything running like clockwork on the last day, which unfortunately doesn't always work.

A number of issues can arise, an item you've ordered could be out of stock or there may not be enough time to process your order, especially if you order many packaging items and it's close to our dispatch cut-off time of 3pm.

Furthermore, once the goods have been collected by our courier, we cannot guarantee that they will be delivered the next day. This is because, any national courier handles a very large volume of goods and sometimes parcels can be temporarily misplaced or missorted and sent to the wrong depot internally, in which case it may take an additional day for the goods to be delivered.

Further delays can arise if customers are not in when a delivery attempt is made. So please do provide us with any special delivery instructions where possible, so that the goods can be left in a secure location on your premises or with a neighbour. We hope you understand that once the goods have left our premises, they are in the hands of a third party and outside of our control. Whilst we will endeavour to chase up orders that haven't been delivered on time, we can't work 'miracles' and ask for your patience and understanding.

This brings us nicely on to why you need to give yourself plenty of time when ordering your packaging needs and to allow for any unexpected delays and, of course, the Bank Holidays.

When it comes to moving house, you may have a lot of items to pack in which case spreading your packing over a period of time would be the best option. You could order one of our moving packs or a selection of our packing boxes and then simply top up as required. We also stock an extensive range of protective packaging materials and bubble wrap, as well as tapes.

If you have items to ship and are looking for large cardboard boxes, then we have a wide range of sizes for you to choose from, whether it's our tea chest boxes, large boxes, cubed boxes, heavy duty boxes, or even our jumbo boxes measuring up to 1m cubed. We try to keep plenty of these large cardboard boxes in stock, but because they take up a lot of space, we can find ourselves a bit short on occasion for some customers. Therefore, ordering well in advance of your shipping date would allow us to replenish stock in time and keep everyone happy!

It's time to start thinking about Christmas!

Yes, it's that time of the year again, well almost! There's no need to panic just yet, because there's plenty of time, but we thought it best to mobilize your thoughts towards Christmas so you can start planning your packaging needs now.

Last year, if you recall, many businesses experienced major disruption to their supply chain and to the delivery of goods to their customers because of the major snowfall we had in November and December. We were also affected.

Many of our customers who had left their Christmas orders rather late in the day, couldn't receive deliveries in time because delivery depots were closed and roads blocked.

So start planning ahead now. Bear in mind that the postal deadlines kick in from the beginning of December. If you wish to purchase boxes and packaging to use for shipping goods to your family and friends or to your customers, then you'll need to order from us well in advance taking into account potential weather delays as we head into the winter months.

We'll be delivering goods up until a few days before the Christmas holidays begin - the dates will be published in due course - but sometimes stocks can run out and ordering early will enable us to get more supplies in.
