Everyone at work thinks I'm crazy (because he's a VERY vocal dog) but Rio is definitely my favorite dog on the planet. He's gentle. He feels like velvet. He's a grumpy old man. He has a lot to say, especially if a youngin' tries to share his bed without asking first. But he's so, so ready to cuddle at any time. He leans into you gently if he wants you to keep scratching. He'll growl a little with a whine (while wagging his tail) if you hit just the right spot. We call it his purr. He's got a long, old, ugly gash down his back leg that healed on its own years ago and no one knows what the story is. His spine is a little curved, so he stands like a lower case "n". He very rarely gives kisses, but when he does, you feel blessed. He has a girlfriend at work named Fiona and they do everything together.
