Nico's debut Chelsea Girl predates the third album of her compatriots The Velvet Underground, but it does have its feel (and its musicians). The entire record seems like a lesson in dejection, even though there is a snippet of hope among it all. Nico does not let its lyrical subjects utterly depressed, she lets them see the bright side as well. This tune which was written by Jackson Browne is a good case for that – it agrees that things are not good, but you just have to hold on as another singer, already mentioned here, said much later.
