Introducing Janet (1981) is a slow, downbeat film made for CBC Television.
Much of it takes place at a fictional Toronto comedy club called Giggles.
The club scenes were filmed at Toronto's only comedy club at the time, Yuk Yuk's, and features three real-life Yuk Yuk's stand-up comics - Larry Horowitz, Marla Lukofsky and Jim Carrey.
Later, after Carrey became famous, it was re-released on VHS with the title Rubber Face.
Larry Horowitz became one of Canada's first modern stand-up comics in 1973-74.
