Okay!!! Premise time. Basically, takes place around the time in the comics modern era where Wanda is running her magic shop, Emporium. She picks up a Magic Artifact(tm) and Pietro, of course, touches it despite being told not to. This connects him to his soulmate, and this tether can never be undone, much to his ABSOLUTE dismay and annoyance. Anyway, enter Y/N, who lives a humble life in the American south, in abject misery. How could it have come to this? They had it all. A crown, a country, subjects to rule, and a birthright to come into, all stolen away when their mutation surfaced. It was one thing to have a sickly monarch, it was another to have a mutant monarch. Y/N’s parents would not stand for it, promptly disowning them and exiling them from the country. To which Y/N has spent the past several years plottin’ and schemin’ to overthrow their little brother, who is running the country to the ground. It is their one and only goal, no time for anything else if it doesn’t involve funding their coup or feeding themself. Sometimes. Oh No by Marina plays. Of course, some annoying man had to come into their life and act like THEY were the one intruding on his. If it’s that serious, then stop visiting!!!! Ugh. Men.
Some things to note; We have the soulmates trope, but only one half knows, which I think is funny. Following that, Y/N’s mutation involves stopping / slowing time, but excessive use puts intense, and I mean INTENSE, strain on their body. Like bleeding from the eyes and nose strain. Their home country is made up in me mind. It will remain vague so that Y/N isn’t immediately zoned as ‘white’ because of the location of their birth. I’m still doing research on Pietro alas, so any comic recs would be appreciated. But this is the basic idea I’m working with. Y/N also makes me think of Peridot or Zim in my head. God only knows if I’ll go through with it.
