Negotiation Game | Starter for lastnamebasis
Bones stood in the entrance of cargo bay, mouth slanted downward into a contemplative scowl. Since the USS Enterprise was docked in the Cardassian Spaceport, he’d felt it prudent to run a perfunctory check on their inventory levels. The results were…. Well, they were frustrating as hell!
“I swear t’god, we never should have gotten roped into the liberation of that pleasure planet…” The doctor muttered to himself. Triage on the injured and needy fleeing the planet had all but depleted his consumable resources. Now Leonard was forced to admit he would have to beam down to the vendors markets for Cardassia and negotiate some additional medical supplies.
“Damn…” Bones growled beneath his breath, ”...damn damn damn…” Turning abruptly, he stalked down the hallway towards the turbolift, riding it to the Bridge.
The trouble with negotiating goods from Cardassia wasn’t the hospitality, or even the accessible means. It was that Cardassians liked to put everything down in writing for their official records. And they only ever wrote in the Cardassian language.
Which Bones could neither speak, nor read.
Emerging onto the Bridge, Leonard tipped a nod at his captain before turning and striding over to where Uhura sat. “Lieutenant…” He greeted, nearly raising his hand on instinct to tip a hat that wasn’t there. Women always did that t’him. “…could I, ah… Could I have a moment of yer time?”
