Artist Profile: David Lewandowski

Stumbling upon David Lewandowski's work, I loved his humorous short-films, "Late for Meeting," and "Going to the Store." The graphic, naked figured is put into our reality and moves in a ridiculous way. These funny videos lead me to look deeper into Lewandowski's work, only to find out he has done some other awesome animation work. He designed the opening credits for torn, as well as the bikes, elevator, and some other graphic things.

Statement about short films:

“late for meeting” is a companion piece to the 2011 short film entitled “going to the store,” which featured a silly, disjointed journey through Sunset park in the traditions of dadaism and surreal humor in film. The unnamed man has somehow reached East Los Angeles, now travelling through the areas of Highland Park, Glendale, Cypress Park and Eagle Rock, California.

Statement about TRON:

In 2010 I was asked to create the opening titles to TRON : LEGACY alongside GMUNK and the environment team at Digital Domain.Gmunk and I designed the paths, roads, and buildings by hand, based off the environment team's buildings for the photo-real city later introduced in the shot. 

I agree with both statements above on how Lewandowski describes his animations. He wants to give you incite and why he did them the way he did.
