So, what did you think of Jack Carter's official design? (And Abigail's, but come on who wouldn't love her)

Abigail's is great, no complaints. As for Jack's...it’s grown on me. A little. I felt like having an identical twin was a cheap shot for some reason, but it definitely did its job in the short - we knew immediately who Wendy’s father was related to, with no dialogue at all.

(This ask was the basis for the comic thing that I still haven’t finished - I don't want to be mean about making fun of the design, but that was the whole foundation of the joke, so...)

(eventually I'll finish it - again my main problem with jack and maxwell being twins is it messes with a bunch of ideas I had that were based around maxwell being older than jack. Imagine the unique pressures and frustrations of your younger sibling being successful and having a wife and family, while you are still a bachelor and have struggled to get your career going. That's gotta sting, and while he was still william especially I don't think he had great self-esteem to begin with.)

My Hero Academia?

My Hero Academia is an anime series that takes place in a world where some people have “quirks”, which are akin to superpowers. Many of them go to a school, the eponymous Hero Academia, to learn about their quirks. The most famous character is Mineta Minoru, whom everyone hates. His quirk is being a grape and being someone who kind of sucks.

5. What is the perfect environment for you to write in? 

I wish I was joking, but... apparently, I do best when I’m sick, and usually have a fever of at least 101.  Two of my best fics were written when I a was one step away from hallucinating I was Lady Gaga.

10. Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most? 

Exposition, then dialogue, I think.  I like to chew scenery, and I blame my long standing adoration of the Pre-Raphaelites. I also adore witty back and forths.

11. If you could only write angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your life, which would it be? 

Can’t write smut to save my life, but... oog.  Hurt/comfort (my bread and buttah) counts slightly more towards angst, but I also love quipping crack fic fix its.  NARGH.

30. Tell us an idea for a longfic you want to write in the future. 

I have two WIPs of longfics which I really should finish, but a new fic... Well, I had the first 500+ words of a fic started that I want to write, of two characters falling into a world where the world is a fantasy backdrop, with magic and monsters, but also covered in water; most of the population survives on houseboat skiffs, since rising waters and monsoons make large permanent buildings difficult.  They search for a way back home, but also evading those who would use their otherworld knowledge for evil. Doctor Who made writing isekai scenarios very easy.

may 31st is The Day of The Cutting Edge! ur a gemini whose strengths are that ur no-nonsense, capable, and adaptable. ur weaknesses are that ur restless, extreme, and an escapist. (u share a bday w walt whitman and clint eastwood!)

GENERAL: u convey an image of being tough and cool. ur much nicer once someone gets to know u tho, maybe even sentimental and soft-hearted. the mask u wear is to hide underlying insecurity or even trauma from early childhood. ur a straight shooter and ur capable and efficient to the extreme. the tendency u have to repeat urself or drive the hammer home tho can be annoying to those who live w you. ur also highly argumentative.

activity and energy is very apparent in u as ur both mentally and physically oriented in equal amounts. ur physical energy might even outweight ur mental energy. even when u make a decision that’s way off the mark, u rarely change ur mind. ur not easy to emotionally reach and even those close to u have to struggle to get thru to u. ur like a magnet to passionate ppl.

ur credo is that confidence breeds success. the other side of that coin is that ur ill-prepared for failure but ur recuperative powers are strong. ur personality has an underlying chaotic and formless nature to it with a propensity for rapid change and a talent for adaptation. u might counteract these tendencies by giving ur life and those of ur family’s an inordinate amount of structure to perhaps avoid falling into chaos. if u haven’t brought the extremes of ur personality into harmony, u appear as a soul in torment and constantly struggle w frustration and unhappiness.

HEALTH: bc of ur inability to handle disappointment and frustration, u tend to seek booze and drugs and feel self pity. u gotta learn that u can fail at things too and it’s ok. loosen up and eat a good meal.

ADVICE: look your emotional problems in the eye, much as you do when handling external concerns. soften your hard edge if you can. avoid arguments; they’re a waste of your energy. find peace within yourself.

Is it possible to cover the pens with a cloth at night or something?

The pens are on chains, so all that really needs to be done- and what night crew has been trying to remember to do, but is still not quite remembering all the time- is having them knock the pens off of the counter so they’re dangling mid-air. We were just trying (unsuccessfully) to fix the pens that had gotten sprayed anyway after they were forgotten because they were literally brand-new and we’re running out of replacements to put out when night crew forgets to move the pens.

Of course, night crew would probably remember better if the message that I wrote on the whiteboard hadn’t been erased literally two days after I wrote it.

For the fanfic ask meme, K, P, S and T?

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

Two things come to mind: In the last fic I wrote, I quite literally killed the main character in front of his boyfriend (he got better); but possibly the worst thing I’ve ever done was broken up star crossed lovers over a misunderstanding... and I haven’t finished the fic in 5 years.

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

I have a basic plot, usually, a beginning and an end point, but I fully admit I’m a gardener (though that’s being nice- I’m more like I throw a thousand seeds out and weed as I go).

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

Monsters, Fantasy, (and recently) isekai (not the lazy overpowered guy gets a harem, but more falling into a fantasy world and discovering new aspects of themselves in the process).

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

Enemies to lovers- way too often it’s an excuse for dubcon and the like, and I just... NOPE.
