Hi there
I’ve been wondering what to write first and how to introduce myself. This is my very first day so I guess we’ll hit the ground running. My name is Alexis. I’m 23 years old, Bolivian and Salvadoran, and a gigantic nerd/geek whatever you want to call it. This past week was New York Comic Con and like the two previous years I went to every diversity, minority, lgbt, women in comics panel that I possibly could. I heard calls to put yourself out there. Find your space in the fandoms. That one of the most important things is finding reflections of yourself in media, comics, movies, tv. To see ourselves as heroes when the rest of the world can’t. Yet I didn’t see myself as much and it’s been hard to find my own space. I’m latinx, a girl, gay, and being a nerd is just the cherry on top. I looked for a space where I could talk to people and I haven’t found much. Ninja latinos here and there where the main writing is based on there lives as latinxs. They just also happened to be latinx. So now I’m here. Trying something new. Hoping to bring people like me together. I also have a twitter same name LatinxGeeks
